The Android rush has well and truly started and now we’re starting to see carriers bring on more and more Android devices as the specs become more powerful and unbelievable at the high-end and more affordable at the low-end. After all the announcements and launches that happened today, it lead me to go check out Optus’, Vodafone’s and Telstra’s sites to see exactly how many Android devices are available for purchase straight off their websites.
6 months ago the clear winner would have been Vodafone; they’ve been pushing out Android devices thick and fast, as well as being the official global seller of Google’s Nexus range. But today Telstra — of all carriers — is the winner, with 17 Android devices for sale on plans, outright and prepaid. Optus is in second with 14 devices and Vodafone third (or last) place with 13 devices. Of course most carriers have a larger variety in stores, but we’re lazy and buy online.
