One of the big handset announcements this year is for the LG G5, with an announcement set for the day before Mobile World Congress kicks off LG is in full tease mode for the handset. Today LG has started teasing an ‘Always On’ display for the phone.
Appearing on the companies Facebook and Google+ pages, the posts includes a GIF and blurb teasing the new feature which they say will include ‘Advanced and upgraded multimedia capabilities’ that will ‘differentiate the new LG G5 from the competition’:
The concept of an always on display is definitely attractive, with information there front and centre, though companies like Motorola have had to use things like Moto Display which utilises the AMOLED display to give peeks at information as notifications appear. Of course this begs the question of whether the G5 will use an AMOLED or LCD screen, with LG tending to prefer the LCD panels the company has excelled in making for the past few years.
In terms of what else the phone will come with you can expect to see a lot more of these teases in the lead up to the launch so stay tuned.
