As a first at the launch of the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge, the availability has been announced, with Australia set to get the phones on the 11th of March. Telstra is the first Australian carrier to announce they will carry the phones and they’ve announced a few details about the launch.
Telstra will be opening pre-orders for the Samsung Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 on the 26th of February with the phones available on a range of Go Mobile and Go Business mobile plans in Black, Silver and Gold colour options.
Telstra is also following Samsung on their VR journey and will begin offering the Samsung Gear VR at participating Telstra stores, with Telstra offering their customers who pre-order one of the phones online a Gear VR headset.
Telstra’s Director of Devices, Andrew Volard said the new smartphones were set to be a hit with Australians.
Luxurious design, standout processing power, high-speed web performance and the return of much-loved features like water and dust protection are set to make this the most popular Galaxy smartphone launch yet. Customers upgrading to the new smartphones can look forward to the fastest web speeds yet on Samsung’s flagship phones with both the S7 and the S7 edge supporting category 9 LTE download speeds of up to 450Mbps on Telstra’s 4GX network. That means faster streaming, sharing and surfing on the web when in 4GX areas.
Telstra has launched a signup page for those interested in learning when the phones are up for pre-order, pointing customers to telstra.com/galaxys7 to register their details. If the Galaxy S7 or Galaxy S7 Edge are your ‘next’ then head over and register your details.
