Google announced one of their largest updates for Android Wear at Google I/O in May with Android Wear 2.0 – based on Android Nougat – coming to watches later this year. The update will bring standalone apps, a massive Google Fit update and an update to watch faces which will let you mix and mix complications on your favourite Android Wear watch face.
The biggest question we’re getting every time we post news about an Android Wear watch face though is ‘Will X get the Android Wear 2.0 update’? Thankfully, reddit user konrad-iturbehas taken the time to compile a list of devices in line for the update based on publicly available tweets, spec pages and more showing the state of which company will be updating their watches to Android Wear 2.0. Take some of the responses with a grain of salt as they’re from the social media team who may not always have the latest information available:

It’s a long list, but it’s a fairly comprehensive one. There’s two watches not on the list, the previously announced Nixon Mission and Michale Kors smartwatches. Both are due for release ‘later this year’ and it’s entirely possible that they are holding back the launch to launch with Android Wear 2.0 later this year – this is pure speculation on my part.
The results are inconclusive for the most part and this is thanks to the companies themselves being rather coy about whether the watches will get updates. Google said at Google I/O that they are working with each partner to see if they can bring the update to the already released watches so nothing is gospel until something official is announced by the companies themselves.
Have you seen anything that debunks the information on this list? Let us know.
