If you’re interested in the moddable Lenovo Moto Z phones, unfortunately there’s no news on an official launch as yet, but online retailer Kogan has started listing the Lenovo Moto Z and Moto Z Force on their website.
The phones are available in Black, Gold or Rose Gold colour options with 32GB of storage available. The pricing starts at $699 for the Moto Z, while the Moto Z Force packing the ‘Shatter Shield’ technology that means the screen will not crack or shatter, is $100 more at $799.
These phones are not the Australian models, with Kogan putting a rider up on the listings for the phones:
The phones don’t have all the LTE bands you’d want for all Australian, with Kogan listing LTE band 2(1900MHz), 3(1800MHz), 4(1700/2100MHz), 5(850MHz), 7(2600MHz), 13(700MHz). While Vodafone customers should be Ok with Band 3/Band 5. Optus and Telstra customers will likely miss the Band 28 (700MHz) LTE band that’s being rolled out.
The most interesting part of the Moto Z phones, those additional modules you can magnetically attach to the rear, are nowhere to be seen. The Speaker, Projector and Power Packs are quite an interesting option for an add-on to a phone, as is the possibility of a Hasselblad camera module, but as usual pricing will be key and no mention of them is on the Kogan website.
The phones have no release date, instead Kogan has simply listed them as ‘Coming Soon’, so there’s no telling how long they could take to arrive.
