Android Wear 2.0 is set for launch in the wee hours of tomorrow morning, at least according to speculation, and one of the major updates being announced is Android Pay integration for watches with NFC. The Android Pay app has been updated with screenshots to show exactly what you can expect when it’s live.

The screenshots themselves don’t particularly give much away, you’ll hold your NFC enabled watch to the terminal and Android Pay should do the rest, just like if you do it with your phone. There appears to be a confirmation once the transaction is complete, and a transaction summary to peruse.

The use of Android Pay will of course require NFC in your watch, hardware which is in short supply at the moment with only the Sony Smartwatch 3 and LGE Watch Urbane 2nd Edition containing NFC. The rumoured LG Watch Sports is also apparently going to have NFC built-in, so when announced if you’re wanting Android Pay on your wrist it could be time to buy a new watch.

We’re anxiously waiting the launch of Android Wear 2.0, with all the new features it brings like the on wrist app store, fitness features, standalone apps and of course Android Pay. The update could go live for a range of watches in the next couple of days, we’ll be sure to update when it does.
