Convertible Chromebooks are all the rage with most of the attention centred around the Samsung Chromebook Plus and Pro. ASUS have been quietly going about their business and details are now surfacing about their next convertible Chromebook.
At CES this year, ASUS announced the Chromebook Flip 2 (C302) which was a high end convertible Chromebook with a 12.5in 1080P display and Intel Core m3 processor. Now the presence of a new ASUS Chromebook Flip, the C101, has appeared on the Taiwan Excellence Awards website. The website lists the Chromebook as being just 15.6 mm thick (when closed) and has a battery life of 16 hours. It’s display is only 1280 x 800 pixels so appears to be a lower end version of the Chromebook Flip. There is also a metal unibody design with the usual “flippable” hinge, allowing for any position from laptop to a fully flipped tablet.
Chrome Story further investigated and found evidence of it on the ASUS website. It is possible that we will see an announcement of it at MWC 2017.
It is great to see so many decent options becoming available for Chromebooks and 2017 is shaping up to be a great year in the Chromebook world. What Chromebook are you looking for? I am looking for a Surface Book type Chromebook. Anyone else?
