Sony is apparently set to announce new devices at Europes largest consumer electronics trade show, IFA, with a planned press conference set for the day before the show opens.
The press conference, according to a tip to XperiaBlog is set for 1pm CST on August 31st – that’s 9pm AEST on the same day back here in Australia.
The IFA trade show, which takes place at the Messe Berlin expo centre in Berlin, Germany is one of the largest in Europe, attracting over 250,000 visitors. IFA has previously seen the announcement of Samsung Galaxy Note devices, as well as being a major event for Sony to announce new devices in the Xperia line such as the Z5 series from 2015.
Sony is expected to announce at least two new Xperia phones at the event, and we’re hoping maybe they’ll dip their toes back into the tablet market as well – but there’s no rumours on that circulating unfortunately.
At this stage, it doesn’t appear that Sony has actually sent out any invites for the event, so we’ll be waiting to see if there’s one in the mail to us when they do.
