We brought you the news about LG’s new Optimus G a little while back. This beast will be powered by Qualcomm’s new Snapdragon S4 Pro APQ8064 chip — a quad-core behemoth that runs at 1.5GHz. Not content with just announcing the device, LG have decided to hype up the upcoming release of the Optimus G with a teaser video released on YouTube. You can watch the video below.
To recap, the Optimus G will feature the Snapdragon S4 APQ8064 with Adreno 320 GPU, a new battery technology developed by LG Chem, a 13 megapixel shooter (although, it will be an 8mp camera here in Australia) and a 4.7″ HD display with a pixel density of 320ppi. This phone looks pretty impressive — maybe our previous, lacklustre experience from last year with LG will be turned around?
LG certainly haven’t done too well in the past — Samsung and HTC make the most popular Android handsets at the moment, so the Optimus G represents a good possibility to turn around that past experience and claw back some market share. On paper, this device looks like it will be a show-stopper — a large screen, a whale of a battery, and 2GB of RAM, something other manufacturers struggle to include on so-called premium handsets.
