HTC’s first device with a 5-inch 1080p display, the HTC Butterfly, is now available for pre-order from MobiCity for $849. Not cheap, but that’s the price you pay for being an early adopter to cool new technology. MobiCity are expected to start shipping the phone on the 18th of January.
While it won’t support any Australian 4G bands, the Butterfly does have HSPA+, 2GB RAM, Android 4.1 w/ Sense UI, an 8MP rear camera, a 2020mAh battery, and 16GB of internal memory than can be expanded with a microSD card. The device is powered by a 1.5GHz quad-core CPU, and with the minimal battery and hi-res display, it’s difficult to see the Butterfly having great battery life.
