Undoubtedly Telstra have the best mobile coverage of any carrier in rural and regional areas but that coverage is useless if the phone is not up to scratch with it’s reception. To combat this Telstra thoroughly test all of their phones before deciding which receive the Blue Tick. The latest phones to receive the Blue Tick are unsurprisingly the Samsung Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+.
The Galaxy S9 phones join 20 other current handsets that have earned the Blue Tick. To earn the Blue Tick devices are tested under laboratory controlled conditions and also out in the field in rural locations to ensure the best call quality possible for Telstra customers.

It is not a great surprise that Samsung achieved this award for their new flagships given that the Galaxy S7, S8, S8+ and Note 8 (among others) have also received it.
The Samsung Galaxy S9 and S9+ can be pre-ordered with Telstra right now and those who pre-order (on eligible plans) will receive the usual Samsung Wireless Charger Convertible as well as a Samsung Galaxy Tab A 8.0 (2017) tablet. The pre-order finished at 11:59pm AEDT, March 15th, 2018. The Samsung Galaxy S9 and S9+ will then be available to purchase the next day (March 16th) from 08:00am AEDT.
For those who want a phone that has passed all of Telstra rigorous tests (and will thus most likely pass all other carriers’ testing) and can be relied upon to give the best possible mobile reception this could be the flagship for you.
