As previously leaked, Huawei has announced the Huawei Watch 2 (2018) overnight bringing with it not much in the way of new specs, but a lovely new colour and now eSIM support.

The hardware specs haven’t changed one iota for the 2018 edition of the Huawei Watch 2, with the same 1.2″ 390×390 circular AMOLED display front and centre, powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon Wear 2100 processor and coming with 768MB of RAM and 4GB of on-board storage.

The same sensors including heart-rate monitor, GPS and 3-axis A + G sensor, Gyroscope, Compass and Ambient Light sensor & Barometer are also on-board – as is WiFi and Bluetooth 4.2.

As with the launch of the 2017 version of the Huawei Watch 2, there’s a Bluetooth version and a 4G version – though this time around the 4G utilises an embedded eSIM rather than removable nano-SIM.

Huawei has retained the awesome orange colour, as well as the more traditional black, but added a new green/yellow band to the watch.

The watch has so far only been announced in China, with no indication that it will be made available more broadly. If Hauwei Australia have any intentions to release it here we’ll be sure to let you know.
