After announcing only the second Wear OS model smartwatch, the Fossil Sport, to use the newly announced Snapdragon Wear 3100 platform last week. While it’s on-sale in the US and UK currently, Fossil has today shared some of their plans for bringing the watch to Australia – and if you were expecting to find one under the Christmas tree – you’ll be disappointed.
Fossil has today revealed that the watch will not be heading to Australia this year, instead they are aiming to being sales in their retail stores and online through fossil.com.au from February.
The first model to launch in Australia is the FTW4021 for $429 AUD which is the 43mm version featuring a smokey blue silicone strap and a case size measuring 12mm thick.
The Fossil Sport was announced last week running the first to appear will be the Qualcomm Snapdragon Wear 3100 System On Chip, though not many other details are known at this stage.
The watch has a 1.2″ display and comes in two sizes: 41mm or 43mm, with a body made from nylon topped with silver, rose gold, gold, blue or red coloured aluminium. The watches – in both sizes – will have a range of over 28 different coloured straps in either 18mm (41mm model) or 22mm (43mmm model) sizes to complement the coloured aluminium will be available.
Fossil will have more information on the other models and colours launching as we approach the February 2019 launch date, but if you want one before then you may have to look around at importing one from the US or UK where they sell in the US for $255 or £249 in the UK.
