Motorola have introduced what they are calling 2 of its most intelligent devices yet to the Australian market, the motorola razr 60 and motorola edge 60 pro. Equipped with moto ai, both devices exemplify Motorola’s leadership in simplifying everyday tasks through intuitive AI.
The release of both devices comes as Motorola continues to prioritise offering an innovative portfolio for everyone, with devices tailored to the unique needs, preferences, and use cases of its consumers in all markets.
Alongside the release of both devices, there has been also a change in management, with now former County General Manager for ANZ Motorola, Kurt Bonnici, who had been in the job for 4 years and seen massive growth of the motorola brand here in the Australian and New Zealand markets, has been promoted to Head of GTAP Strategy and Business Operations for Motorola and we personally like to wish him all the very best in his new role.
Replacing him is Praveena Raman, who has spent the past five years at Samsung, most recently as Head of Carrier Sales and is now the Country General Manager for ANZ at Motorola. We wish her all the best in this new role.
Speaking at the launch event, Praveena Raman, Country General Manager for Australia and New Zealand stated that:
“We’re proud to continue leading the flip phone category and beyond, with devices that aren’t just well designed, but also smart – they bring meaningful AI features to Australians, that genuinely enhance daily life. Whether it’s anticipating your next move, generating the perfect playlist, or summarising your day, we’ve made sure moto ai genuinely makes life easier.”
“Additionally, the motorola razr 60 is a perfect example of how we’re combining iconic design with intelligent innovation, delivering a foldable experience that’s functional and fashionable, while the motorola edge 60 pro follows the success of its predecessor, featuring AI-powered enhancements and a refined design that lives up to our promise: every detail considered, every angle covered.”
Motorola has stated that both devices will come with a suite of new AI features that include:
- Next Move: Offers intelligent, real-time suggestions based on screen activity — e.g., saving dates, creating images, and organizing tasks effortlessly.
- Moto AI: Enhances photo and video capture with intelligent adjustments, complementing high-performance cameras across Motorola’s latest devices.
- Google Circle to Search and Gemini Live: Transforms devices into proactive, intuitive companions, going beyond basic assistant functionality.
So let’s have a look at both devices separately shall we.
motorola edge 60 pro
The Motorola Edge 60 Pro is the successor to last years Edge 50 Pro, which did have some AI built in but motorola had leaned fully into AI with its new devices.
The Moto Edge 60 Pro comes with a 6.7-inch Super HD (1220p) display that is powered by an Octa-core MediaTek Dimensity 8350 Extreme chipset, 12GB RAM with 512GB onboard storage which sadly cannot be expanded so you might want to ensure you have enough cloud storage just in case.
In terms of cameras, the Motorola Edge 60 pro comes with a triple rear camera set up made up of a 50MP main camera lens, 50MP Ultrawide angle and a 10MP Telephoto lens. The front facing camera is a 50MP.
The Motorola Edge 60 Pro does come with a 6000mAh battery which is non-removable but can support 90W TurboPower charging, though the charging brick is sold separately which is disappointing as I have been a fan of Motorola including this but lately they haven´t which is disappointing. The Edge 60 Pro can support 15W wireless charging for those who also prefer wireless charging.
The Edge 60 Pro does come with Bluetooth 5.4, NFC, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac/ax 2.4 GHz | 5 GHz | 6 GHz, Wi-Fi 6E and Wi-Fi hotspot
The Edge 60 Pro does come with Android 15 right out of the box and Motorola have stated that they will guarantee 3 years of major OS updates and 4 years of bi-monthly security updates which is good but considering similar devices at the price point are offering more I am hoping Motorola might charge this but will have to see.
The Motorola Edge 60 pro will be available in either PANTONE Shadow and PANTONE Sparkling Grape from Motorola website and retail partners such as B Hi-Fi, Harvey Norman, Officeworks, The Good Guys, Mobileciti and Amazon for AUD$1,199.
Motorola Razr 60
The Motorola Razr series is as iconic as what it was way back in the early to mid 2000´s being its most popular flip phone and one that we here at Ausdroid do really like.
The Motorola Razr 60 comes with a 6.9-inch FHD+ pOLED display main display whilst the external display is a 3.6-inch pOLED display that is powered by an octa-core MediaTek Dimensity 7400X chipset, 8GB RAM and 256GB of onboard storage and again you cannot expand this so will need to ensure you have enough cloud storage.
In terms of cameras, the Motorola Razr 60 comes with a dual rear camera set up made up of a 50MP main camera lens and a 13MP ultrawide camera lens whilst the front facing camera is a 32MP camera.
The Motorola Razr 60 comes with Bluetooth 5.4, WiFi 5G, WiFi 6/6E 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac/ax, 2.4GHz & 5GHz & 6GHz and Wi-Fi hotspot a\longside a 4500mAh non-removable battery which can support 30W TurboPower charging which sadly the charging wall brick is not included in the box and will have to purchased separately. The Razr 60 can also support 12W wireless charging for those who prefer this type of charging as well.
The Razr 60 will comes with Android 15 right out of the box and Motorola have stated they will guarantee 3 years of major OS updates alongside supporting up to 4 years bi-monthly security updates.
The Motorola Razr 60 is available right now for pre-sales in either PANTONE Gibraltar Sea and PANTONE Parfait Pink from Motorola directly alongside retail partners such as JB Hi-Fi for AUD$1,199.
