The upcoming OnePlus launch on July 27th is going to be a different event with the whole VR aspect involved, but then, that’s OnePlus for you: Different. The team has always taken a different approach to marketing, something they spoke about on their blog recently, and as well as the slow drip announcement of specs on their site and forums, they’ve also used reddit AMA’s (Ask Me Anything) threads to keep up the hype train, and during their most recent AMA, they’ve let loose a few more tidbits.

The team doing the AMA consisted of Michael (u/oklar), Emmanuel (u/commintomylife), Carl (u/carpe02) and David (u/devildv) and there were a few interesting bits. To start with, the OnePlus 2 will come with a 3,300mAh battery:

The OnePlus 2 will also be smaller than the OnePlus One, as evidenced by this pic, which David says is hiding a OnePlus 2

Co-founder and CEO Carl Pei also advised that the camera on the OnePlus 2 is a priority, with David also backing this up saying ‘Camera-wise, we have a bunch of things that we believe will set the OnePlus 2 apart’.

Finally, the hardware specs and the design for the OnePlus 2 is locked in, with only minor fit and finish details being finalised in the lead up to launch.

Update:Looks like there was a few more details:

We’ll be watching the launch on July 27th (midday July 28th AEST) on whichever platform it’s available on (there will be an app for VR users and a livestream for non-cardboard users), and you will be able to as well. If you want, you can check through the reddit AMA here and see if there’s any interesting tidbits we missed.
