That’s how the saying goes; when it rains, it pours. Just today we’ve gotten our first look at what Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy Note 5 looks like, and now we know what’s inside, thanks to Evan Blass and his well placed sources. Speaking to Evan informally, there’s little doubt that these specs are the real thing, so read on and enjoy.
There’s little doubt that Samsung’s yet-to-be-announced Galaxy Note 5 is going to be an absolute power-house of a device. Known internally as the Noble (or NobileLTE), and numbed SM-920, the Galaxy Note 5 will feature an Exynos 7420 System on Chip — we’re talking an Octa-core processor with 4 x 2.1 GHz cores and 4 x 1.5 GHz cores — paired with a huge 4GB of RAM and 32GB of on-board storage.
This power will be hidden behind a 5.66″ display running at 2560 x 1440 pixels, giving an effective pixel density of 519ppi (which itself is really significant). The rear camera is a 16MP shooter with LED flash, and a 5 MP front camera (though there’s no front flash). That we’re aware, there’s no MicroSD expandability here, continuing the trend started by the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge earlier this year.
The Note’s signature S-Pen will be included as well, as you can see above.
All this is expected to be in a razor frame, like the S6 range as well. The only things we don’t really know yet are the battery capacity and price, and when we’ll see it in Australia, but on that latter note, the expectation is “soon”, given how quickly Samsung got the S6 range to Australia after the launch at MWC.
