Motorola’s updated Moto G has hit importer Expansys on pre-order at the fairly wallet-friendly price of AU$285. While Expansys is taking pre-orders, the company hasn’t provided a shipping date for the phone. You might also want to watch out for the supported LTE bands.
Announced last week, the 3rd generation Moto G continues Motorola’s focus on providing a quality Android experience at a budget price. It’s got a 5-inch 720p display, a quad core processor and its 8GB onboard storage is augmented with support for a Micro SD card.
Prospective purchasers might want to be careful – the model on offer from Expansys is the XT1541, and claims support for LTE bands 1, 3, 7, 8 and 20. This means it’ll work on our basic 4G networks (1800MHz, band 3), but not on the 4G+ networks run by Telstra/Optus (700MHz, band 28) or Vodafone (850MHz, band 5). We’ve seen that the local release of the Moto G will at least feature support for Band 28.
If you need to be the first person on your block with a third generation Moto G, head over to Expansys and pre-order now. Be aware that shipping charges may apply once the phone arrives.
