Google has followed up on their promise of monthly security patches for Nexus devices, posting a slew of new factory images on their developer site. The updates are being supplied for the Nexus 4, Nexus 5, Nexus 6, Nexus 7 (2013), Nexus 9 and Nexus 10 as promised by Google in their announcement following the massive Stagefright vulnerability scare in July.
The factory images have all updated to build LMY48M on the Nexus Factory Images page. Notably however, the Nexus Player remains at LMY48J, but that may change in the coming days The Nexus Player has now gotten it’s factory image added, and is showing build LMY48N – similarly the Nexus 7 (2013) LTE is now up with build LMY48P.
The updates included in the images are mostly expected to be the security updates that Google has posted about in the Google Group that was setup to focus on the monthly updates. The post includes at least one vulnerability which is listed as critical with an active exploitation, so possibly a high priority to get that patched.
OTA updates should begin hitting Nexus phones and tablets included in the list shortly, until then you can flash the latest updates from the factory images to get the latest version.
