Sony has been a long time player in the Android space. As a consumer electronic company with a long history, they have many fans. However, despite their longevity and consumer base, they have just not been able to break into the market in a profitable way. At this year’s MWC Sony released the rumoured successor to their Xperia Z5 line, but it wasn’t the Z6 we were expecting, no it was a new line, the Xperia X series. The New Xperia X line-up contains the Xperia XA, Xperia X and the Xperia X Performance.
Today we have seen a little movement from Sony with several new official product videos hitting their YouTube channel as we as a press release from Sony UK announcing that from today pre-orders will be going live across various markets. Unfortunately, the X series still shows as ‘coming soon’ in Australia so it doesn’t look like we’re in for pre-orders down under just yet.

I have to admit, I hold a special place in my heart for Sony, and I want to see them find success in the increasingly competitive mobile/ consumer electronics market. Could the X line finally allow Sony to turn around their Mobile division?
We’ll keep an eye out for the Australian release and let you know when we find anything out.
