OPPO’s newest phones — the OPPO R15 and OPPO R15 Pro — have hit the shelves today, and we’ve got a wrap up of all the carrier plans on offer. On top of this, JB Hi-Fi is offering big discounts too. You can get $400 off either phone if you ditch your current phone plan and swap to Telstra.
The plan you’ll need to sign-up for is JB’s $49 per month Telstra deal, which includes 25GB of data and unlimited talk and text on a 12-month contract. This offer is available in store only for customers not already on Telstra.
The way it works out, over a year on Telstra, for $200 on top of the retail price of the phone, you’re getting a phone service too with 25GB data to use each month. It’s not a bad deal, and it’s on offer for the next two weeks.
Besides Telstra, you can grab the OPPO R15 Pro on Optus, Vodafone and Woolworths Mobile:
The OPPO R15 is also at Woolworths, on 24 month plans for now:
So what about the phones? The R15 Pro and standard R15 are OPPO’s latest “affordable premium” devices.
Both the Oppo R15 and R15 Pro sport a 6.28″ bezel-less Super Full Screen (2280×1090) resolution, 18:9 aspect ratio display which of course sports a notch. Internally Oppo is using a Mediatek Helios P20 for the R15 and a Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 for the R15 Pro. Both handsets come with 6GB RAM + 128GB of onboard storage with an option to install a MicroSD card up to 256GB inside.
One key difference we noted is that while the R15 doesn’t include NFC, the R15 Pro does list it as a spec, so if using Tap & Pay is important to you, you may want to keep that in mind.
The Oppo R15 will have a 3,450 mAh battery while the Oppo R15 Pro only gets a 3,400mAh battery, with both handsets supporting Oppo’s super fast VOOC charging.
