Lollipop Forest

Did you miss out on the Flappy Bird craze? Fear not – Android 5.0 (or at least, the updated developer preview) has a Flappy Bird clone built in, taking over from the Webdriver Torso easter egg in June’s preview build.

It’s actually a double easter egg – the first is a cute interactive lollipop decorated with the word “lollipop” in the new Android logo lettering. It changes colour when tapped, but it’s kind of tame compared to the previous easter eggs we’ve seen in Android releases.

To access it, go to Settings > About and tap the Android version number quickly a few times. A small coloured dot will appear on the screen, and when you tap it, it’ll grow into the full lollipop.

If you long-press the lollipop though, you’ll launch the game, which replaces the bird from the original Flappy Bird with Bugdroid, the Android mascot but features similarly unforgiving physics.

Whether or not this will make it into the final build is anyone’s guess – our suspicion is that without the blessing of the game’s creator it might only see the light of day in the developer preview.
