Google and Udacity have teamed up again to announce a new course aimed at developers wanting to improve their design skills on Android.
The ‘Android Design for Developers’ short course is a free online learning package designed by Google to assist those interested in Android design to ‘learn how to apply the material design principles that define Android’s visual language to your apps’.
The course includes five lessons incorporating design fundamentals, surface elements, graphic design, use of motion and adaptive design and is targeted at “developers familiar with Android who want to boost their design skills or designers who want to understand more about the platform”.
Expected completion time is four weeks with 6 hours of work per week. The course can also be taken as part of the larger Android Nanodegree for those wanting to learn the entirety of Android app development from start to finish.
