The Pixel 3 is a divisive phone, in its current state it suffers from a number of issues ranging from photos not saving, to video audio and memory management issues. Google has now promised a fix for the memory management issue.
The memory management issue sees the Pixel 3 being very aggressive with applications, with the problem most prevalent with music or podcast apps being force closed if you flick to another app like the camera to quickly take a picture. This aggressive memory management is quite annoying to users, but the fix is incoming.
In a statement to 9to5Google, a Google Spokesperson said:
We’re rolling out a software update in the coming weeks to keep background apps from being prematurely closed in certain situations.
With that time-frame, the update could be included in the December monthly security patch – or it could give us an idea of when the first Maintenance Release (MR1) is due for the Pixel.
