Possibly one of the most widely used mobile messaging services: WhatsApp, has finally introduced an official way to view your WhatsApp conversations on the web.
Acting as an extension from your Android phone, the web client is displayed in Chrome and connected by scanning a QR code to sync your conversations with the web page. The web funcitons act as extension of your phone, mirroring all your conversations on your phone. As such, you still require a data connection to your phone to send and receive messages, this means that all your conversations will continue to live on your phone, with all your chat history intact.
To connect your phone with the web client, head over to https://web.whatsapp.com and scan the QR code displayed in the WhatsApp app on your phone. There’s a rider at the bottom of the page advising ‘Requires the latest version of WhatsApp’, which should be pushed to Google Play soon. WhatsApp has advised that this function is definitely Android only for now, with iOS not able to provide the functions due to limitations of the platform.

Update:
A bit of a run-down on the how-to for connecting your phone to WhatsApp web, as some people are having some issues connecting. Firstly you’ll have to make sure you have the latest version of WhatsApp. Once you do, navigate to https://web.whatsapp.com/ on your PC and then you’ll see this :
Open WhatsApp on your phone and go to the Settings Menu (three dots) and select ‘WhatsApp Web’. Hold the scanner over the QR code on your screen and you’ll be able to connect your phone and computer. Note this works for only one PC at a time, but you can remove the connection easily once it’s established.
