Officially speaking, Google Play Music is dead… But there are still aspects of it that users may be somewhat attached to. An email out to past Google Play Music users issues a last chance warning to run a transfer to YouTube Music (again if you’ve already transferred but made changes) or run Google Takeout to prevent data loss. The deadline for this to occur is February 24th.
On February 24, 2021, we will delete all of your Google Play Music data. This includes your music library with any uploads, purchases and anything you’ve added from Google Play Music. After this date, there will be no way to recover it.
You’ve already transferred to YouTube Music. But, if you’ve made any changes, you still have the option to transfer again so your music library is up to date. If you would like to download your Google Play Music library and data, you can do so with Google Takeout before February 24, 2021.

It’s a good gesture from Google to remind users before data deletion, despite the fact users have not been able to access it for some time. It will be interesting to see if YouTube Music maintains the userbase over time, or if many will head for other options.
