Android has always been missing what seems to be a basic feature for smartphones, native Video Chat. Apple have had the head start on Android by launching Facetime alongside the iPhone 4. Now with the new Android 2.3.4 update, which is expected to hit the Nexus S first, Gtalk will allow for Video and Voice Chat that will finally put front-facing cameras to good use. When in a Video Call any text chat will appear over the top of the video so you don’t have to stop the stream, and if you need to do something else whilst in the middle of a Video Call, the stream will pause but voice chat will still continue to function.
