You may have noticed recently a few changes around here at Ausdroid – and they way you’ll have noticed is (a) we’ve been a bit quiet on posts for the last few days, and (b) the forum has been up and down like a yoyo, and our main site has had periods of downtime.
Unfortunately this has been unavoidable but we have worked round the clock to make our recent upgrade as smooth as possible. Where once there was one server providing Ausdroid, there are now three (well four, actually) – a front-end load balancer, two web servers and a back-end server which isn’t world-visible. This might be a bit technical for you – but the end result is easy to understand – even under heavy load, the Ausdroid site should continue to load nice and quick for you.
We’ve spent a bit of time and money on this to get it right, so hopefully you’ll notice going forward that things are bit more reliable and responsive around here. If you’d like to know more about what’s changed, let us know in the comments and we can always elaborate a little!
Thanks guys,
Chris
