It was just over a month ago when we posted the Android Platform distribution statistics that saw Android 2.2 at 45% and Android 2.3 at 38%. One month later we can see that Gingerbread (2.3-2.3.7) has taken the lead at Froyo’s expense. Gingerbread is now sitting at 44.9% and Froyo has slipped to 40.7% — a loss of 4.3%.

Hopefully with the launch of Ice Cream Sandwich in the next month or so, we’ll see both Gingerbread and Froyo slip in percentage and ICS grow to 50% and above. A boy can dream though, right?
