We reported that the Fidelio docks from Philips would be arriving last month, however I’ve only just been able to find them in-stock but at neither Bing Lee or Harvey Norman, I found them at Dick Smith, it appears they’ve also added a third model to their lineup and they have a fairly decent deal on the mid-range model. They’re stocking these three :
The 3 docks use the FlexiDock system developed by Philips which allows pretty much any Android phone to be connected be it in portrait or landscape mode to allow for charging via microsUSB and streaming of music via Bluetooth :
Once the phone is docked and charging, you then need to load the free Philips Fidelio App from the Google Play store which will then pair your phone to the speaker dock and stream music across the Bluetooth connection. The app also includes access to over 7,000 internet radio stations, a weather forecasting service, various alarms and also the Songbird music player, which lets you sync, browse, playback and manage music playlists from your PC on your Android phone.
We’ve been advised that the AS111 and AS851 are still available from Harvey Norman and Bing Lee, if you haven’t seen them on display at those stores make sure you ask about them because they’re definitely available. I’m actually pretty interested in AS140 and with that price it’s a pretty decent option.
