The LG Optimus G has been given some official availability time frames at a launch in the US. LG’s LTE Flagship phone will launch in South Korea next week and then roll out globally in key markets in October to ‘key’ markets. As we previously were informed by LG the phone which will have a slightly lower resolution camera than the one released globally going from a 13MP sensor to 8MP for the Australian release. The Optimus G will feature LG’s unique User experience and enable users to “live without boundaries”.
I spoke with LG Australia in regards to an Australian release and they advised :
LG Optimus G will go on sale in Korea starting next week followed by other key global markets in quarter 4 this year and is planned for release in Australia in early 2013.
Spec Wise the phone comes with a lot of hardware including the S4 Pro CPU which is shaping up to be quite a nice processor :

The UX will include a number of features such as Quick Memo for jotting down information or sharing information via screenshots, Dual Screen Dual Play to allow mirroring of content between phone and TV and the Camera functions have been boosted with features such as Time Catch Shot which enables the user to choose the best among various shots taken before the shutter button is pressed, Cheese Shutter a function which allows the camera to be voice activated taking the picture on voice command, Smart Shutter which allows for camera vibration and Low Light Shot Noise Reduction that utilises a light monitoring system to reduce noise when photos are taken in periods of low light availability.
Looks like a great phone, but holding of release till 2013 is a bit of a downer on the release. Spec wise this phone looks brilliant even with the lower resolution camera, all we can do is wait and see what happens. Anyone looking at this phone as their next device?
