After Vic Gundotra posted pics to his Google+ account from a Nexus 10 last night, the existence is not only confirmed but now we have some details on the hardware that is powering the Nexus 10. BriefMobile has also provided a gallery of pics of the device and screenshots as well as a breakdown of the Android 4.2 Jelly Bean software installed on the device which reveals an updated Gallery, Camera and Clock applications, Multi-User accounts, as well as a new quick settings bar. The 10″ tablet also appears to be running the same phone/tablet interface combo from the Nexus 7.
Nexus 10 Specs :
- 10″ Super AMOLED display @ 2,560 x 1,600 resolution (298.9ppi)
- Dual-Core 1.7GHz Samsung Exynos 5250
- Mali-T604 GPU
- 2GB of RAM
- 16GB internal storage or other no microSD expansion slot)
- 5 megapixel rear-facing camera with LED Flash and Front Facing Camera
- NFC, WiFi, Bluetooth 4.0
- Dual Front Speakers
Whilst this tablet has 16GB they did advise that other configurations were possible but speculate on whether the device would come with more Drive storage, which we have seen recently with the launch of the new Series 3 Chromebooks on the Play store which offer 100GB of Google Drive storage for 2 years, not a bad option but this doesn’t really help when a lot of the things I wish to store like comics and books require local storage.
The tablet looks pretty decent although you can definitely see the design cues from Samsung in there, no pricing as yet so we’ll have to wait for the ‘Playground is Open’ event which is scheduled for 10am 29th October in New York which equates to :
1am – 30/10 – Sydney/Melbourne
12:30am – 30/10 – Adelaide
10PM – 29/10 – Perth
It will as usual be streamed out on the Android Youtube page, we’ll of course be covering it so all the info will be here on Ausdroid on Tuesday Morning if you aren’t able to watch live.
