When we first got word that the LG Optimus G was coming to Australia we were advised that the phone would be delivered to different markets with one of two different camera sensors either 8MP or 13MP depending on the market. We were advised early on that Australia would be getting the 8MP version but today I was advised by LG that the Optimus G will be arriving in Australia with a 13MP camera after all. Spec wise that is the only change we’ve been advised of so the specs on the Optimus G are now :

- Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich with LG UX
- 2,100mAh Battery
- Talk time: 15 hours
- Standby: 335 hours
Given that the Nexus 4 is based very much on the Optimus G specifications but without LTE, a number of people who were disappointed with the Nexus 4 coming only in HSPA+ are seriously considering the Optimus G instead. LG has advised previously that the phone will launch here in Australia in early 2013 so we have only a little while longer to wait. Who is going for the Optimus G purely based on the inclusion of LTE or does the 13MP camera also entice you?
