Samsung has just announced two more tablets in the third generation of their Galaxy Tab series. Being released are two models, in an 8″ and 10.1″ screen sizes which will join the 7″ Galaxy Tab 3 which was launched in April.
Both models are showing pretty low end specifcations when compared against the current top of the line tablets in the market; but the Galaxy Tab line are generally aimed at a more budget conscious customer.
The Galaxy Tab 3 8″ is being described as a device that is exceptional reading and entertainment device, with a slim bezel. Even so the specs are not terribly generous. The Galaxy Tab 3 10.1″ is being really aimed as a multimedia tablet, it offers Smart Remote and MHL(TV Out) optioons so it’s being positioned as a home media controller.

According to Reuters the CPU inside both models is indeed an Intel based Atom processor, which was a rumour which started when results for the tablet appeared on bench testing site GFXBench; However it doesn’t appear to be the Clovertrail CPU that was listed there.
It’s interesting to note that Samsung has begun advising the actual space which is accesible by users on the tablets, rather than the generic 16/32GB which they have done previously.
Samsung has announced that both models will be available globally this month. We’ll be following up with Samsung Australia to confirm dates and local pricing for these models.
