Evan Blass (aka @evleaks) is at it again, today leaking what appears to be an official press shots of the new Nexus 7. Dual rear facing speakers, a notification light and a rear camera can be seen in the image.

The updated Nexus 7 has already seen several leaks in the last week, and this morning Android Police posted photos of a Best Buy catalogue listing the new Nexus 7 as being available from Tuesday in the US. According to the catalogue, the device has a screen resolution of 1920 x 1200 and sells for US $229.99.
Best Buy lists this tablet as having 16 GB storage space, though we’re told to expect a 32 GB variant:

Of note is the slot visible on the image from the back where it is suspected to hold a SIM card, leading to speculation that the device will carry mobile data from the very beginning (the original Nexus 7 didn’t gain a cellular data variant until late last year).
According to current rumours, the device is expected to come with:
- 7-inch Screen at 1920×1200
- 1.5 GHz Snapdragon S4 Pro Quad-Core CPU
- 4 GB of RAM
- 16 GB and 32 GB on-board storage
- Dual cameras – 5MP rear/1.2MP front
- Slim Port video out
- Dual Speakers
- Android 4.3
- Wireless charging
All should be revealed on Thursday, as Google have scheduled an event for this Wednesday (US time), where it’s believed they’ll announce the new device.
We’re hopeful it will be available for purchase almost immediately from local stores in Australia, although at this stage all stores I have approached haven’t heard when the next Nexus 7 will be, or even if it will be, available here.
