If Acer were looking to build a computer that no one will buy, they’ve hit the nail on the head with this one. The DA241H1 is ‘designed to offer users the same familiar experience as with tablets and smartphones’, except without the mobility. Anyone who has used an HTC One X or last year’s Nexus 7 for extended periods of time will know how badly the Tegra 3 can perform, and why Acer has chosen to use it in a 24-inch desktop PC can only be a matter of cost.
The PC will be running Android 4.2 (with access to Google Play) with multi-user support and can connect to an external display using MHL. Interestingly, it can act as a two-point touch screen when connected to a Windows 8 PC by HDMI and USB.
The Acer DA241H1 will be available in Europe mid-October for €429 (~ AU$630).
