After being announced as being on-sale at retailers across Australia last Thursday, we have yet to see a single retailer actually receive stock into their stores, but fear not, they are on order. But, if part of the process of purchasing a Nexus device is buying it directly from Google through the Play Store then Google has advised Ausdroid tonight, that they will begin selling the Wi-Fi versions of the Nexus 7 (2013) through Google Play on September 10th.

Google has not advised exactly what time the device will be going on-sale through Google Play, but taking cues from the launch of the Nexus 4 and Nexus 10 last year in November they could possibly go on-sale around mid-day. Of course any hardware purchased through Google Play will attract a delivery charge – for the current crop of Nexus devices this charge is $20 on top of the cost of your device.

They’re not live yet but you can keep checking these links for the 16GB which will sell for $299 and the 32GB which will sell for $339. No word on accessories for the Nexus 7 for Australia, but in other parts of the world the Nexus 7 Sleeve went on-sale for USD$29.99 at the same time as the tablet appeared.

While we continue to look for the Nexus 7 (2013) at retail in Australia, if you really want to purchase your tablet through Google Play, you don’t have long to wait.

Will you buy a Nexus 7 (2013) from a retailer or wait for it to become available through Google Play?
