You’d be forgiven for missing the launch of the Sony Xperia Z1, with all the announcements made at IFA last night there was a large number of devices from various manufacturers announced, but in terms of camera, the Sony Xperia Z1 was one of the most promising. Sony advised in their launch that they expected to launch the Xperia Z1 globally this month so we reached out to Sony as well as the Australian Carriers to find out which ones will be carrying the device.
The Sony online store will be accepting pre-orders for the Z1 from Sony online from Monday the 9th September. No pricing has been announced as yet.
The Sony Xperia Z1 will be ranged on three carriers in Australia, Optus, Telstra and Virgin Mobile will be carrying the phone, but unfortunately Vodafone has no plans to carry the phone.
Virgin Mobile
Virgin has advised that they will be carrying the Sony Xperia Z1, when released it will be available for $0 per month on the Virgin Mobile $60 Plan – min. total cost is $1440 over 24 months. When they start accepting pre-orders, customers who sign up for a pre-order will receive a Sony NFC Speaker Ball valued at $79 while stocks last(Offer is available to first 300 pre-orders or until 1st October 2013). Optus
Has advised that they too will be carrying the Sony Xperia Z1, Pre-orders for the Xperia Z1 will be available from Optus on 16 September. More details on plans and pricing will come soon you can register your interest with Optus on their Smartphone Alerts website.
Telstra
Telstra has just announced that the Sony Xperia Z1 will be coming to Telstra next month :
Sony’s new flagship smartphone, the Sony Xperia Z1 is sure to make a splash in Australia when it comes to Telstra on the superfast 4G network next month.
