Bauhn ASP-500H Smartphone Aldi
Aldi have released their catalogue with specials beginning the 11th of September and there’s a new phone to go along with the re-invigorated, now Telstra direct supported, Aldi Mobile service.

The Phone is the second model that Aldi has sourced from Bauhn, with the launch of Aldi Mobile in March offering a Bauhn handset for $199, which did promptly sell out as at the time it actually represented pretty decent value for money.

The Bauhn ASP-500H, on the other hand is actually not that great a deal when you look at it, considering the recent price drop of the Nexus 4.

The Bauhn ASP-500H Specs:

  • 5.0″ HD 1280 x 720 Capacitive screen Display
  • MTK6589 Quad Core 1.2GHz Cortex A7 Processor
  • 1GB RAM
  • 8GB Onboard Storage with Micro SD card slot supports up to 32GB SDHC card
  • Rear 8MPRear Camera with Auto Focus and 0.3MP Front Facing Camera
  • WiFi 802.1 b/g/n, Bluetooth 2.1+ EDR, GPS
  • G- Sensor
  • Dual SIM/Standby: UMTS 850/2100, GSM 850/900/1800/1900 MHz
  • Android 4.2 Jelly Bean
  • 2050mAh removable Battery

The phone does have a removeable battery, but there does not appear to be an accessory pack for the device listed in the Aldi Catalogue, so additional batteries may be difficult to source. But as with most Aldi electronics, this is a special buy and is sold only while stocks last, but a better value proposition is more likely the current Medion phone, which Chris reviewed, it’s still currently still in-stock for $149 at my local Aldi store.

The Bauhn ASP-500H comes backed with the usual 12 month warranty and as per normal, Aldi has a 60-Day money back guarantee on the phone to refund or replace it. If however you’re a Bauhn Fanboy/girl – hey, i`m sure they exist – and you are dead keen on getting your hands on this phone, head in-store on Wednesday the 11th of September and check it out.
