LG has just announced availability for the highly anticipated LG G2 in Australia. The G2 will be launching on Optus as the exclusive carrier and through selected Australian retailers in Black and White on November 4th.
The LG G2 is an absolute dream of a phone, which I personally found out when I reviewed the handset. The phone offers an absolutely smooth user experience and absolutely gorgeous screen, as well as a new ergonomic design which sees the main controls for power and volume located on the back of the handset. There is also a pretty decent software package on-board the G2, with LG including their QSlide and QuickMemo applications as well as introducing new features such as Guest Mode and Quick Remote. The Camera is one of the better ones that I’ve used offering Optical Image Stabilisation on a 13MP sensor.
LG has partnered with Optus to sell the phone exclusively on their network which matches up well with the newly launched 4G Plus network. Jonathon Banks, Head of Mobile Communications at LG Australia said

The partnership with Optus involved R&D collaboration to enable the G2 to support the new Optus 4G Plus network. This combined with innovative hardware design makes G2 a very compelling proposition for Australian consumers.
Optus will be selling the phone in their stores and online on their Optus MyPlans, offering 24 month contracts on the $50 My Plan with a Monthly Handset repayment of $5 per month or on the $60 My Plan with no handset repayments. The LG G2 is one of the first phones compatible with both the standard Optus 4G Network as well as their 4G Plus network which uses TD-LTE technology operating on the 2300MHz frequency.

The G2 will also be available from retailers for outright purchase Allphones, Dick Smith, Harvey Norman and JB Hi Fi in both 16GB and 32GB versions. The 16GB model will retail for $649 while the the 32GB version will be priced at $50 more at $699. LG has advised that the first 10,000 customers who purchase the LG G2 will receive Quick Window flip cover as a bonus.
