McDonald’s yesterday unveiled their new mobile ordering app my macca’s, available to download from Google Play Store and Apple’s App Store.

The App, which allows users who register free of charge of course, order their favourite food from the selected full menu (for both breakfast up to 10.30am through to lunch/dinner), go to their local store listed or preselected when signing up and scan a QR code to have their order validated at the restaurant. The user can then either pay through drive thru or inside at the restaurant counter.

The only catch is that the app can only be used at selected WA & NSW Stores right now. McDonald’s promises more stores and locations and other states will follow in 2014.

Speaking with InsideRetail, McDonald’s chief marketing officer Mark Lollback said:

My Macca’s would give customers the chance to browse the full restaurant menu at their leisure, easily customise their order if they wanted to add fresh tomato or lettuce or give pickles the flick, and pay via credit card.

Meals are then made to order when the customer has checked in at their participating store by scanning a code at devices installed in drive thrus or at an in-store mobile check-in point, We are constantly looking at ways to deliver new technology and innovation to our customers and are thrilled to offer the convenience of mobile ordering on devices people already use every day.Mark Lollback
