If you’re a resident of the US and want to get your hands on Google Glass, you’re going to get your shot, with Google announcing they will open orders for Google Glass to everyone(in the US) on April 15th.
There’s been a big wait to get Glass, initial signups for ‘Glass Explorers’ were taken at Google IO 2012, before Google embarked on a wider – but still closed – launch with the #IfIHadGlass Promotion last year. Since then Google has experimented with different ways to invite new signups to the Glass Explorer program. From offering invites to current Glass Explorers and Google Music All Access subscribers to now opening a wider public launch.
But it’s still limited. You still must be a US Resident, have a US shipping address, be aged 18 years or older and of course, be able to afford the USD$1500 + tax price tag. Google obviously recognises that there are people outside the US keen to get involved in the Glass Explorers program advising that :
To everyone outside the US… we know. Sorry
We’re just not ready yet to bring Glass to other countries.
For those of you in the US, you can jump over to the Glass Explorer sign-up page on the 15th of April at 9am EDT – that’s 11:00:00 PM April 15 AEST for those here in Australia.
There’s a long list of people outside the US wanting Glass – I’m one of them – and we all hope that Google opens up international availability soon.
Would you take the opportunity to purchase Glass if you had the chance?
