We don’t yet have an LG G3 released (but it’s coming soon), and rumours are already circulating that LG will have the honours for this year’s Nexus phone for the third year running.

Nexus phones usually come out in the second half of the year, and little is known about what’s expected this year, but LG is tipped to have the honours, and the Nexus 6 is likely to follow the design of the LG G3, with an added fingerprint sensor. There’s no named source for this rumour, just a ‘trusted insider’, but there are elements to the rumour that fit — LG have a track record now with Nexus phones, and making great ones, so it only makes sense that they’d have the task for 2014.

Spec-wise, we’re looking at a 5.2″ screen at 1440 x 2560 resolution — this is a bit less than the 5.5″ screen of the LG G3, but this allows space on the front face for a fingerprint sensor without increasing the overall size of the device.

Inside, a Snapdragon 805 SoC with a quad-core 2.7 GHz 450 CPU and Adreno 420 GPU will power the Nexus 6, as Qualcomm state their chips will be seen powering devices in the second half of 2014.
