Australia, and many territories only just saw the latest Sony phone – the Xperia Z2 – go on-sale at the beginning of this month and the Xperia Tablet Z2 only just beat it to market by mere weeks, but Sony is already looking ahead. Sony has released a teaser on their blog promising ‘the next big thing this season’.
The teaser blog post’s full title is ‘Shh… do you want to know a secret? Stay tuned for the next big thing this season’ and features a picture of an obviously Sony device from the side on a beach, with a woman in the background. Now all scale jokes aside (no it’s not a 6-foot tall tablet), there’s not much to see :
Apart from that decidedly ‘Sony’ power button, the volume rocker and what could either be a SIM card slot or microSD card slot, there really isn’t much to see, nor clues on what to expect. The obvious one, to my mind is a Sony Xperia Z2 Compact, but we’ll have to wait and see.
