This afternoon Motorola announced the Australian pricing for the Moto 360 with it being available for $329 from local stores. The Moto 360’s most direct competition in the round smartwatch space is the LG G Watch R. The price of the LG G Watch R has been unknown, as is the exact release date, but has been speculated to be similar to that of the Moto 360.
The LG G Watch R today popped up on the MobileZap website for $349.49AU. Add in $17.95 for standard shipping (4-6 business days) or $24.95 for express (3-4 business days) and you are looking at a price that is more than the Moto 360. MobileZap is a UK-based business hence the premium price but they are expecting stock in 3-5 days so if you really have a hankering for this smartwatch and absolutely must have it you can have it in close to a week easily by only paying a few extra dollars.
At this stage we do not know how much the LG G Watch R will be in Australia, nor do we know the exact release date, just that we have heard end of October/early November, yet to be officially confirmed. With it being available in the UK in the next few days we would assume Australian availability will come to light soon. In essence you are paying possibly slightly more for being an early adopter, being one of the first in Australia to own a LG G Watch R. It is up to you if that is worth it but those who we know who paid above the odds for a Moto 360 seem to be very happy with their purchases so this deal may be just right if this watch is a must-have for you.
The specs included for this price are:
- 1.2GHz Qualcomm® Snapdragon 400
- 1.3-inch P-OLED Display (320 x 320)
- 4GB eMMC / 512MB RAM
- 410mAh battery
- Android Wear – compatible with smartphones running Android 4.3 and above
- 9-Axis (Gyro/ Accelerometer/ Compass), Barometer, PPG
- Black
- Dust and Water Resistant (IP67)
Anyone interested in this watch? Are you willing to pay this much for it? As always we will keep you posted on any official local updates from LG Australia.
