We’ve seen leaks about the HTC One M9 for weeks, if not months, and it feels like there’s not much left to find out about the rumoured device scheduled for an MWC 2015 launch in a week or so. German retailer Cyberport has posted details of the HTC One M9 including a number of renders which appear to confirm much of what we already know.
Cyberport’s listings show a pre-order price of €749 (which works out to just shy of $1090 in Australian currency). One hopes this is a pre-order price only, and retail pricing will be a bit more realistic, otherwise HTC may well be setting themselves up to release a great white (expensive) whale. Availability is suggested for early April, which all but confirms an MWC announcement.
Let’s take a look at what could be the most revealing renders of the device released thus far:
The images come from two listings; one for the M9 in gun-metal grey, and the other for a silver phone with gold accents. Both designs look familiar, both when compared to the leaks we’ve seen, and also to the heritage from the HTC One M8. Obviously, we know the camera module is a little different, with a square feature instead of the circular camera module on the M8 model.
As to the specifications, there’s few surprises here, but it’s nice to see them wrapped up nicely from a third party retailer which claims to have the details:
Display | 5″ 1080p |
Rear camera | 20MP |
Front-facing camera | 4MP Ultrapixel |
RAM | 3GB |
Storage | 32GB expandable to 128GB with microSD |
Processor | 2GHz Octa-core |
Battery | 2900mAh |
Dimensions | 144.6mm x 69.7mm x 9.61mm |
OS | Android 5.0 Lollipop with Sense 7 |
Whether Cyberport has the inside word, or whether they’re just filling in gaps, we don’t know. HTC could still pull a rabbit out of its hat on the 1st of March, but whatever the case, we’ll find out first hand and report back to you, as Daniel heads off to Barcelona for MWC 2015 in a day or two now.
