Sony Xperia
As the flagship line, Sony’s Xperia Z series phones get the lions share of attention, but they’ve certainly released some quite decent mid-range phones in terms of hardware. Sony has so far advised of plans to release Android 5.0 (Lollipop) to their Xperia Z phones but nothing has been said about their Xperia C3, E1, E3, M2, M2 Aqua, T2 Ultra or T3 handsets – until now.

According to the team running the Sony Xperia Twitter account, those handsets won’t be getting the update, or at least they are only promising to deliver it to the Xperia Z handsets.

It’s far from definitive answer and Sony has changed their minds in the past when it comes to which handsets will receive an update, but if you’re an owner of a mid-range Xperia handset it’s not a great sign. We’ll keep an eye on what’s happening and update if Sony changes their mind.
