Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge - Model
The latest Galaxy S release is reportedly being well received by the buying public, with a reported 20 million pre-orders already received in the week since the phone was announced.

According to a report in the KoreaTimes, an expert from a leading carrier in Europe – who declined to be named – has advised

Samsung received some 20 million pre-orders for the S6 and S6 Edge _ 15 million of S6 and five million of the S6 Edge from mobile carriers, worldwide. This is the record.

It’s early days yet, and we know Samsung is never backwards in coming forwards regarding reporting sales, or pre-order numbers so we may hear something officially soon, if these numbers are indeed true. Samsung Electronics mobile chief JK Shin has advised there has been a positive reception to the launch stating:

To be honest, pre-orders of the two Galaxy variants from our major clients are really huge.

The immediate comparison people will draw from any announcement from Samsung is of course to one of their biggest rivals, Apple. Apple reportedly received more than 4 million pre-orders for the iPhone 6/iPhone 6 Plus in the first 24 hours after announcement last year.

Samsung has always heralded sales numbers for their Galaxy phones, but last year pre-orders/pre-sales for the Galaxy S5 were reportedly around 40% lower than those on the Galaxy S4. In the wake of the Galaxy S5 launch, and subsequent ‘failure’, three executives in Samsung’s mobile division were reportedly fired. If indeed Samsung has turned their ship around, this news would be welcome for Samsung – and the executives now in those positions recently vacated.

We will probably hear more from Samsung on sales, if they’re successful in the near future.
Would you pre-order a Galaxy S6 or S6 Edge right now if given the chance?
