Dick Smith has begun sending out emails inviting people to pre-order the Oppo R7 for $449.
The partnership with the electronics retailer was announced earlier this month, with both companies stating at the time that the R7 and the R7 Plus would launch towards the end of the month and whilst we aren’t quite there, it would seem the R7 is the only smartphone being made available at the time of writing.
Price wise, the Oppo R7 price of $449 is quite a steal given the specs the mobile phone comes with. Here is a full list of specs the R7 is packing:
- 5″ 2.5D Arc Edge AMOLED Display (1080 x 1920)
- 1.5 GHz Octa-core Qualcomm MSM8939 Processor
- 3 GB RAM
- 16 GB Memory, expandable to 128GB via microSD
- 13 MP rear camera, 8 MP front facing
- Android 5.1 with ColorOS v2.0
- VOOC flash charging
- 2320 mAh Li-Po Battery
- Network Connections:
- 3G: 850/900/1900/2100MHz
- 4G: FDD-LTE: B1/3/5/7/8/28
- Dimensions: 16cm x 88.5cm x 5.5cm @436g
Overall the Oppo R7 has been crafted in an a premium unibody aircraft grade magnesium aluminium alloy which is a very nice touch whilst also offering some pretty high end specs for a rock bottom price. The R7 also comes with a 2 year warranty which is also a bonus.
The R7 does come with the latest and, according to Oppo, the best version of ColorOS which has been greatly improved with the upgrade bringing a redesigned look and feel of the OS as well as new looks for key apps and enhancements to crash rates, that should bring shorter app launch times and larger memory to enable faster operations.
The R7 will be coming in both silver and gold versions and should be available from the 27 July 2015 if you pre-order today. You can head over to the Dick Smith website to check out the R7 for yourself.
