With the release of their ‘super mid-range’ phones out of the way, Sony can now concentrate on the more premium Z series phones. According to rumour – and history – we’ll be seeing not only an Xperia Z5 phone announced at their September 2nd press event at IFA, but also an Xperia Z5 Compact handset as well. Leaker @vizileaks has posted a pic of two phones overnight, claiming to be the next Z series flagship and its Compact counterpart.

The big takeaway from the photo is the apparent inclusion of a fingerprint scanner on both the Xperia Z5 Compact (if that’s what it’s going to be called) and the Z5. According to ViziLeaks, the fingerprint scanner is built into the power button on the side of the phone, and the Z5 series will again have a glass back.
We’ll know all about the Xperia Z5, Z5 Compact and what ever else Sony have to show us in just under a month, and from the looks of this, we can’t wait to see it all up close.
