Last year’s Lenovo/Motorola Moto Z was the third best phone of the year in my opinion (after the two Pixels) so to say I’m looking forward to this year’s version is an understatement. Today the very-busy leaker, Slashleaks, has revealed photos of the press render for the second generation Moto Z, the Moto Z2.

The image shows that, as expected, the Moto Z2 does not vary much from the Moto Z. The fingerprint sensor is the same as on the Moto G5 Plus, different to the Moto Z. The phone itself, without any Moto Mods attached, is still incredibly thin with a decent camera bump.

The pogo pins for connecting the Moto Mods to the phone’s software are still present but what is new is the very-subtle Lenovo branding down the right side of the device. Last we heard Lenovo were still branding the Moto devices as Motorola but it may be time to rethink that.

We are expecting this phone to release in the third quarter of this year and hopefully with some more affordable Moto Mods. After thoroughly enjoying the Moto Z version 1, I can’t wait to check this device out when it arrives. Is it too early to put my hand up to review the Moto Z2?
